Suns Win Game 1 of Western Conference Finals
Phoenix Defeats Denver 116-98
Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton Lead the Way
The Phoenix Suns took Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals with a convincing 116-98 victory over the Denver Nuggets at Footprint Center on Tuesday night.
Devin Booker led the way for the Suns with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, while Deandre Ayton added 22 points and 13 rebounds. Mikal Bridges and Chris Paul also chipped in with 17 and 15 points, respectively.
The Nuggets were led by Nikola Jokic, who finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. However, he was the only Denver player to score more than 15 points.
The Suns jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, leading by as many as 25 points in the second half. The Nuggets made a small run in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late.
With the win, the Suns take a 1-0 lead in the series. Game 2 is scheduled for Thursday night in Phoenix.
