Tadej Pogacar Wins Stage 8 of the Giro d'Italia
UAE Team Emirates Rider Extends Overall Lead
Tadej Pogacar of UAE Team Emirates has won Stage 8 of the 107th Giro d'Italia, a 152km-long race from Spoleto to Prati di Tivo. The Slovenian rider crossed the finish line in a time of 3:54:20, extending his overall lead in the race.
Pogacar's victory was his second of the Giro d'Italia, having also won Stage 7. He now leads the overall standings by 1:04 over Biniam Girmay of Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux.
The stage win was a dominant performance by Pogacar, who attacked from the peloton with around 30km remaining and quickly opened up a gap. He maintained his advantage all the way to the finish line, crossing it with a comfortable margin of victory.
Pogacar's victory will be a major boost to his hopes of winning the Giro d'Italia. The 23-year-old is one of the favorites for the overall title and will be looking to add to his impressive list of achievements in the race.
