CNN's upcoming live election night special will feature Amber Ruffin alongside Anderson Cooper

CNN has announced that Amber Ruffin will join Anderson Cooper for the network's live election night special on November 8th

Ruffin, the host of Peacock's "Late Night with Amber Ruffin," will provide commentary and analysis throughout the evening, the network said Tuesday.

"I am so excited to join Anderson Cooper on CNN for election night coverage," Ruffin said in a statement.

"This is a historic election, and I can't wait to bring my unique perspective to the conversation."

CNN's election night coverage will begin at 7 p.m. ET and will continue throughout the evening.

In addition to Ruffin and Cooper, the network's election night team will include Wolf Blitzer, Jake Tapper, Dana Bash, and John King.

"Amber Ruffin is a brilliant comedian and commentator, and we are thrilled to have her join our election night team," said CNN President Jeff Zucker.
